'Faith or Foolishness?'

This world is a place where good and evil can co-exsist. Where there is good, there can be evil and we often hear 'the same thing that will make you laugh, will make you cry.' When it comes to religion and worship, it is supposed to be used to uplift, bring together and make positive changes in individuals lives. In some cases it does, but in others, it can be used to justify evil. I guess this would make sense because people are not perfect, so in everything man made, there will be a good side and a dark side. We strive for things like perfection, order, and immortality...it is in our nature. So some of us turn to religion to answer those questions that 'can't be answered.' For hundreds of years, we, the imperfect people, have fought over silly issues such as skin color, religion preferences, lifestyle choices and government. Anyone can just go along with a 'social norm' just to please higher authority, even if it goes against their own personal morals. So, does that then make them worthy? Or will it demand more sacrifice and suffering? And is their suffering then 'good' suffering versus someone who is not religious? Even though they deal with the same life stresses and issues. I know people personally who have turned to God due to life situations and needing direction. This is the path they chose and are then place upon a pedestal, warning others that if they don't take the same path, they are doomed to hell. Well some, not all. Remember, we are not perfect and most people will agree to that. This, coming from an average person can sound very egotistical. Live and let live.
